Singer/pianist B.T. Baldwin makes a welcome return to the Festival after two sold-out Hair of the Dog performances in 2014.
This time he brings his sophisticated stylings and elegant improvisations to the popular Tin Pan Alley tunes of the 1920s and ‘30s, paying homage to early swing pioneers Teddy Wilson, whose playing graced the recordings of Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald, and the hugely influential Earl Hines, who gave the likes of Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker their first break and was dubbed by Count Basie as “the greatest piano player in the world”.
Tony Baldwin, piano and vocals
Leigh Barker, bass
A selection of Peninsula wines will be available for purchase.
Complete your concert experience with a pre-performance dinner at the Bakery from 5.30pm. Book directly with Red Hill Baker: (03) 5931 3125.
