Be transported to Vienna at the dawn of the 19th century, as Acacia Quartet pay homage to one of classical music’s most influential patrons.
Prince Joseph Lobkowitz played a pivotal role in the creation of two of the finest works in the string quartet canon: Haydn’s String Quartet No.1 in G Major, Op.77 “Lobkowitz”, Haydn’s swan song in the genre that he invented, and Beethoven’s String Quartet No.10 in E flat Major Op. 74 “Harp”, written in a state of relaxed mastery thanks to the financial support of his patron.
