Welcome to Peninsula Summer Music Festival 2018
This year we again present a cornucopia of delights, celebrating the unique musical and geographical environment of the Mornington Peninsula. I encourage you to experience the music and musicians that you know and love – but also to try something a little different. From four-handed piano to Gypsy-Balkan swing, from fiery flamenco to the majesty of Grieg, from the glory of French baroque opera to uplifting South African song, there truly is a veritable feast of wonderful performances on offer.
It is with mixed emotions that I also bid farewell to this hugely rewarding and very special festival. After eleven years it is time for me to pass the baton. I can do this secure in the knowledge that the festival is as special to our community as it is to me – and knowing that our uber-talented Executive Director Merryn Tinkler will is staying on as “keeper of the flame”. I would especially like to thank everyone who supported us in the early years, and helped to transform a great idea into an even greater reality.
And so for the last time I bid you – bon appetit!
